Water failure

Power failures at EMBL usually go together with water failures, additionally the water level in the chiller can become too low over time. Lenses will be switched off, showing as many error messages in the Titan user interface. Falcon cooling will fail. Gatan K2 cooling will fail.

Water chiller

Left button is for on/off.

If that does not work, check with facility management is the water is up and running.

Could also be that for some reason the water level is low, open the top plate of the water reservoir and fill it a bit.

Once the water runs, some things need to be reset.

Reset optics errors

Open Microscope Software Launcher, Tools, Optics, Optics Board Test.
If some of the lens boards are in error, hit "Initialize and activate all boards", after a while things should be ok again.
