Introduction
Microscope:
- Grid mapping is always done at lowest LM magnification, K3 Linear
mode, objective aperture out.
- Grid
square mapping is always done at lowest SA magnification, K3 Counting,
microprobe (large parallel beam), objective aperture in.
- Data acquisition on K3 is done in counting
mode, nanoprobe (small parallel beam), objective aperture in.
- We do not align the microscope other than running Zemlin tableaus
for coma free conditions and image (objective) stigmation!
- Gain references and GIF tuning are important and need to be done
regularly (every few days or when acquisition settings are changed), do
not try to save time on this!
- Online processing of SPA frame data runs on the K3 PC.
If you want to play or change settings, contact Wim Hagen (7850) or Felix Weis (7745).
Data acquisition has been automated as much as possible.
